Sophia Whipple, Psy.D., “Dr. Sophie,” is a postdoctoral fellow at O’Koon Psychology Group. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in child/adolescent psychology from the University of Hartford. She completed her predoctoral internship at Life Skills Psychological Services in Michigan, a private practice that serves individuals across the lifespan.
Dr. Sophie gained clinical experience at the doctoral level across settings, including therapeutic schools, a community mental health center, and a private practice. She provided assessment and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults at these placements. She is interested in assessing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disability, mood and anxiety-related disorders, OCD, behavioral concerns, and psychotic-related disorders.
Dr. Sophie is a proponent of early intervention, which informs her perspective on the importance of providing developmental assessments for young children to maximize well-being and adjustment as they grow.
