Reese Hyzer, PhD, NCSP is a postdoctoral fellow at O’Koon Psychology Group and a nationally certified school psychologist. She earned her PhD in School Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and completed her predoctoral internship at Schaumburg High School through the Illinois School Psychology Internship Consortium.
Dr. Hyzer has experience working with children and adolescents across public schools, therapeutic day schools, and outpatient clinical settings. Her background in school psychology gives her a strong understanding of how to support students’ learning and emotional needs within the school system. She is knowledgeable about Illinois special education law, IEPs, Section 504 plans, and behavioral supports such as FBAs and BIPs. Dr. Hyzer values collaboration and works closely with families, educators, and community professionals to promote each child’s growth and well-being.
Her research interests include adolescent mental health, culturally responsive practices, and school-based mental health supports. She is passionate about bridging research and practice to ensure that children and adolescents receive evidence-based, effective care. Her dissertation focused on social media use and well-being among adolescents.
