Like so many of you, we have spent the last several weeks learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world. We are working to understand how it affects our employees and patients and working to make adjustments to our work and operations. As a result, we have developed numerous new policies in order to keep our patients and employees safe.
According to an order from the Village of Glenview, all persons are required to wear masks when in public spaces, including within the building and suite of our clinic. You will not be allowed access into the building without a mask. Similarly, all OPG staff are required to wear a mask. The integrity of the assessment will not be compromised with use of masks. Assessment rooms will also be reconfigured to promote social distancing practices. In order to reduce the amount of persons within the waiting room, only one person is allowed to accompany the patient.
All persons entering the suite will be required to have their temperature taken by an OPG staff member. This thermometer is a touch-free device that is sanitized after each use. Persons with a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit will need to reschedule. Please do not come to the clinic if you or your child are feeling ill.
The surfaces and materials at OPG are regularly cleaned throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is also available for use within the common areas and within testing rooms. Waiting room chairs are also spaced appropriately in order to promote social distancing.
The psychologist who leads your child’s evaluation will contact you to confirm appointments. We ask that children are able to follow our guidelines. Please let your psychologist know if you need to postpone scheduling. At this time, all appointments scheduled at the Vernon Hills location will be moved to our Glenview location until further notice.
At OPG, we recognize our responsibility to understand and address the needs of your child. We remain committed and available to do whatever we can to be responsive while maintaining your child’s safety and that of our team.
Clinicians do reserve the right to discontinue any sessions if there are any concerns. OPG will continue to monitor the situation and do what we can to protect our employees and patients. If you have any questions or need to reschedule, please contact your lead clinician by email or by calling the front desk at (847) 729-5510 option 1. We will provide updates if any changes to our policies occur.
